Hull Coloring

There seems to be some question about the colors used on the Galaxy-Class Enterprise, so I'm clearing this up right now.

I originally indicated that the paneling of the D Enterprise would be painted in two shades of blue. One is a duck egg blue, and the other is a kind of sky blue, (which is the base color in which the plastic model kit is molded). By painting these two blues together I was hoping to provide some visual continuity with the apparent blue/green coloring of Kirk's original ship as seen on Television.  F
or some unknown reason, however,... those colors were intentionally neutralized when the miniature was filmed, reducing it to the ranks of yet another gray spaceship.  And this dis-coloring was perpetuated in subsequent movies.

This is the root of the problem.  Do you paint the ship as seen on your Television screen,... or as originally intended and painted for the series: Star Trek: the Next Generation?

Presented here, are the base colors originally specified for the Enterprise: NCC-1701-D
