CONvergence 2003

Time Flies

Convention theme PRINT

This painting was produced for the Minneapolis Science Fiction Convention, held each 4th of July weekend,
known as "CONvergence".

A detail of the above painting

2003's theme was "TIME FLIES" and the convention wizards actually built a replica  of Star Trek's
(Harlan Ellison's) 'Guardian' portal, complete with multiple changing lights & original sound bites,.....
[See it in the upcoming movie: "Trekkies 2"].

This convention has, every year,  had a mascot robot named "CONNIE", designed by comic artist
Christopher Jones, and I just had to combine both elements in this  20" x 15"  piece.

This is my first oil painting and I'm still sorting out the pros & cons of the medium.
